The first building automation project was carried out by the Franco brothers in 1991.
After several years of working in the industry and gaining experience, the two brothers joined forces and founded the company Eurodomótica, Lda. on 23 October 2001.
Eurodomótica Lda now works exclusively with the KNX protocol and has formed partnerships with the leading KNX brands in Portugal – Siemens, Hager, Schneider Electric and ABB – having planned and implemented numerous installations.
It is common in KNX Eurodomótica solutions to use other universal protocols to complement them, via communication gateways such as DALI, EnOcean, DMX, Modbus and Bacnet, amongst others.
It has also implemented a number of KNX-compatible control solutions from the well-known brands Crestron, Control4, AMX and URC.
Since 2010, in response to the crisis in Portugal, Eurodomótica Lda has focused on luxury markets by partnering with specialist brands and has secured the rights to represent a number of exceptional international brands in Portugal: BASALTE and CJC.
In 2014, Eurodomótica Lda began implementing home cinema solutions using some of the world’s leading audio and video brands, in partnership with the Swiss group Génesis-Technologies, which represents several prestigious brands in Europe and Portugal, such as AudioControl, Control4, Episode, Artcoustic, Revel, Lyngdorf Audio, Screen Research, Steinway Lyngdorf, Origin Acoustics, Triad, Stealth Acoustics, B&O Origin, Cineversum and Patio Theatre, amongst others. It also offers solutions from other prestigious brands: MKSound, Artcoustic, Datasat, ScreenExcellence, Screen Research and James Loudspeaker.

Eurodomótica is a registered trademark represented by the systems integrator Hábitos e Cenários, Lda, which develops and implements building and home automation solutions using the world’s leading automation standard: the KNX system.
This system is the only global standard to have been assigned the ISO/IEC 14543 designation. It is an open protocol for home and building automation, adopted by more than five hundred manufacturers, who offer over 100,000 products that are fully interoperable with one another. These products enable solutions that combine comfort, functionality and significant efficiency gains, not only in energy consumption but also in the operation of buildings, resulting in substantial cost savings.
The KNX automation system enables the management and control of all a building’s technical systems, such as lighting, blinds, air conditioning, ventilation, security systems, technical alarms and audio distribution; allowing for both local and remote control.
