Lisbon Higher School of Music

The Lisbon Higher School of Music (ESML) is recognised on the national stage as the Portuguese successor to the oldest Portuguese conservatoire, having been based in Lisbon since 1835 and designated as a National Conservatoire.

The construction of the School of Music, in collaboration with the architect Carrilho da Graça and the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute, won the design prize, receiving the Valor Award and the 2008 Municipal Architecture Award.
